strange feeling of pronouncing Chinese, how to overcome?

Post by admin » Wed Jun 12, 2019 8:59 am

If you are not familiar with Chinese culture (movies, series) it is normal to feel like learning Chinese feels so different even feel rude for some cultures and language users. The main reason is how unfamiliar we are for other tones and therefore, changing tones feels not normal for most cultures and languages. For example, in both English and Turkish we never think that much regarding changing and focussing on a different variant of tones. At the same time, some Chinese people try to use tones while talking in English too.
That is why it is highly important to start with Chinese basics like pinyin. Learning tones and expose many audios to feel it is normal and you should not forget that sense of normal is always relative. After a beginner level, you will probably feel that Chinese is not that difficult.
All you need is finding Chinese cultural materials such as music and films to love it more. Also, do not forget that learning Chinese is hard for everyone as people has to study 2 times more than learning any other languages.
