Our study examined the prevalence of somatic symptom burden among female mental health service users and evaluated the associations between trauma-related symptoms and somatic symptom burden.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"as0010\">\n<h3 id=\"st0015\" class=\"u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom\">Methods<\/h3>\n<div id=\"sp0060\" class=\"u-margin-s-bottom\">Female participants (<em>N<\/em>\u00a0=\u00a0995) from international clinical settings completed validated self-report measures assessing somatic symptoms (SSS-8), childhood trauma (BBTS), PTSD and DSO symptoms (ITQ), and dissociation (MDI).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"as0015\">\n<h3 id=\"st0020\" class=\"u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom\">Results<\/h3>\n<div id=\"sp0065\" class=\"u-margin-s-bottom\">Over half (54.9\u00a0%) reported elevated somatic symptom burden (SSS-8\u00a0\u2265\u00a013). These individuals were significantly more likely to screen positive for probable ICD-11 PTSD\/CPTSD (62.6\u00a0% vs 28.3\u00a0%), X<sup>2<\/sup> (1)\u00a0=\u00a0116.685,<em>p<\/em>\u00a0&lt;\u00a00.001,\u03a6\u00a0=\u00a00.34, and report dissociative symptoms (61.5\u00a0% vs 16.0\u00a0%), X<sup>2<\/sup> (1)\u00a0=\u00a0210.883,p\u00a0&lt;\u00a00.001,\u03a6\u00a0=\u00a00.46, compared to those with lower somatic symptom burden. Hierarchical regression revealed that PTSD, DSO, and dissociation accounted for an additional 32\u00a0% of variance in somatic symptom burden beyond demographics and childhood trauma exposure. Logistic regression confirmed that PTSD (OR\u00a0=\u00a01.54), DSO (OR\u00a0=\u00a01.67), and dissociation (OR\u00a0=\u00a02.08) were each significantly associated with elevated somatic symptom burden (all ps\u00a0&lt;\u00a00.001). The final model demonstrated good classification performance (accuracy\u00a0=\u00a075.1\u00a0%, AUC\u00a0=\u00a00.824) and significantly outperformed individual symptom models.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"as0020\">\n<h3 id=\"st0025\" class=\"u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom\">Conclusion<\/h3>\n<div id=\"sp0070\" class=\"u-margin-s-bottom\">Trauma-related symptoms are closely linked to somatic symptoms among female clinical populations.
