Abstract
Background: Sexting addiction is a term that is not yet recognized as an official disorder. While there are no official diagnostic criteria, some signs of problematic sexting behavior include excessive time spent sexting and an inability to control it. The role of artificial intelligence models, such as ChatGPT, in the definition of sexting addiction, has not yet been explored.
However, ChatGPT currently does not allow sexting. Future chatbots that use similar technology can help it.
Methods: This article reviews the literature on sexting addiction and the potential role of chatbots in its definition.
Results: The authors suggest that artificial intelligence models may contribute to developing sexting addiction by facilitating easy access to sexual content. Furthermore, they can get novel sexual feedback in a short time. Moreover, chatbots can help them to write a sexual story.
Conclusion: Further studies are needed to understand the relationship between chatbots and problematic sexting behavior fully.
